Shocker Impact™ Max 20K Cushion Receiver Hitches

Shocker Impact™ Max 20K Cushion Series is built for demanding work and everyday towing. Shocker Impact™ Max cushion receiver hitches use dual urethane bump cushions to help soften road jolts without an air ride system to adjust. It’s the 20K version of the Impact™ Series, with a matte-black frame that flips over for drop or rise. Available for 2-inch and 2.5-inch receivers, with hitch ratings up to 20,000 lbs GTW and 2,000 lbs tongue weight. Choose the ball, pintle, drawbar, or clevis setup that matches your trailer; the lowest-rated component determines capacity.

Who the Impact Max Series is for

Impact™ Max is our 20K cushion hitch, rated up to 20,000 lbs GTW and 2,000 lbs tongue weight, for 2-inch and 2.5-inch receivers. Dual urethane bump cushions absorb the up-and-down and fore-and-aft jolts, with no air pressure to set. It fits pickups, service-body trucks, vans, SUVs, RVs and motorhomes, and even UTVs, Gators and Toolcats. It’s used for:

  • Equipment and work trailers: Skid steer, dump, equipment, enclosed, cargo and utility trailers.
  • Farm and ranch: Pintle, drawbar and clevis mounts hook up to wagons, cultivators, fertilizer spreaders, balers, augers, sprayers and anhydrous tanks.
  • Campers and recreation: Campers, boats, car and race trailers, snowmobile trailers, and ice and fish houses.

Flip it for drop or rise

Impact Max is the only cushion hitch on the market that can be flipped around, so the cushions can run on the top or the bottom. The matte-black frame has 7 adjustment holes and 5/16" thick carbon-steel side plates, and the receiver shank has two pin holes for length adjustment.

Pick the right mount for the job

  • Pintle hook: The Impact Max Pintle Hitch uses a 10-ton pintle hook that fits 6" OD x 3" ID rings. Choose 1" of rise to 6-1/2" of drop, or 3-1/2" of rise to 4" of drop.
  • Pintle and ball: The Impact Max Drop Hitch with Pintle & Ball pairs an 8-ton pintle hook with a 2" or 2-5/16" ball (1" of rise to 6-1/2" of drop).
  • Drawbar and clevis: The Drawbar and Cushion Drawbar hitches (4" of rise to 4" of drop, 1" hole) and the Clevis hitch (1-1/2" of rise to 5-1/2" of drop, 1-1/4" holes) handle wagons and equipment with a pin hitch.
  • Ball mounts: Choose a drop mount (up to 7-1/2" of drop), a raised mount (5" of rise to 3" of drop), or a combo ball with both 2" and 2-5/16" balls (4" of rise to 4" of drop).

The 2-5/16" ball is rated 20,000 lbs and the 2" ball 10,000 lbs. Actual drop and rise depend on the mount you choose, so check the drop/rise guide on each product page.

Farm Mount Towing Kits

The Impact Max Farm Mount Tow Kit puts a combo ball mount (2" and 2-5/16" balls), a channel pintle hook, a drawbar and a clevis mount in one box with the Impact Max hitch. The Deluxe Farm Mount Tow Kit swaps in the quad-cushion drawbar, which is great for anhydrous tanks.

Sway control kits

For campers and long trailers, the Impact Max Drop Hitch Sway Control Towing Kit includes a sway-tab combo ball mount and two friction sway bar kits. If you already own a friction sway bar, the sway-tab drop, raised, and combo ball mounts accept it.

Impact Max or an air hitch?

Impact™ Max uses urethane cushions with no air to adjust. The HD Max Series is also rated 20,000 lbs in matte black, but adds an air spring you tune for the trailer load. For towing up to 14,000 lbs on a 2-inch receiver, compare the safety-red Impact™ 14K Series.
