Who the Max Series is for

The Max Series is our 14K air receiver hitch in a textured matte-black finish, rated up to 14,000 lbs GTW and 1,400 lbs tongue weight for 2-inch and 2.5-inch receivers. It fits pickups, vans, and select SUVs with the receiver under the bumper. Customers use it for:

Campers: Campers, including Airstream-style trailers, with sway control kits for longer trailers.

Car, boat and utility trailers: Plus ice houses and equipment trailers. The air spring absorbs the jerks and tugs of a hard connection, so there’s less stress on welds, cargo, and your truck.

Farm and livestock: Cattle and horse trailers across pastures, gravel roads and field approaches, plus drawbar and clevis mounts for wagons and farm equipment.

Pick the right mount for the job

Pintle hook: The 14K Max Air Pintle Hitch uses a 10-ton pintle hook for lunette-ring trailers. Choose 0 to 5" of drop or 3" to 7" of drop.

Pintle and ball: The 14K Max Air Drop Hitch with Pintle & Ball pairs an 8-ton pintle hook with a 2" or 2-5/16" ball (3" to 7" of drop). On this hitch, it’s limited to 14,000 lbs in pintle mode, 12,000 lbs with the 2" ball and 14,000 lbs with the 2-5/16" ball.

Drawbar and clevis: The Drawbar and Cushion Drawbar hitches (up to 4-1/2" of drop, 1" hole) and the Clevis hitch (3-1/2" to 7-1/2" of drop, 1-1/4" holes) handle wagons and equipment with a pin hitch.

Ball mounts: Choose a drop mount (4-1/2" to 8-1/2" of drop), a raised mount (2" of rise to 2" of drop), or a combo ball with both 2" and 2-5/16" balls (up to 4-1/2" of drop).

Actual drop and rise depend on the mount you choose, so check the drop/rise guide on each product page.

Sway control kits

For campers that get pushed around by crosswinds or passing semis, the Sway Control Towing Kit with Combo Ball (1/2" to 4-1/2" drop) includes two friction sway bars. Use one bar for trailers up to 10,000 lbs and both for trailers up to 20,000 lbs. If you already own a friction sway bar, the sway-tab drop, raised, and combo ball mounts accept it.

Adjust the air ride for your trailer

The air spring and pivoting frame help absorb towing jolts. Follow the air receiver installation guide and model-specific air-pressure instructions when setting up or changing the load. These air receiver hitches are not for use with a weight-distribution hitch system; ask our team about the appropriate Air Equalizer setup if you use weight distribution.
