    INSTALLATION

    1. Remove your existing king pin box and install the Replacement Goose Box (SH-RVGC-4405 or SH-RVGC-4410) in the same location on your camper.
    2. TORQUE PIN BOX FASTENERS TO 120 FT POUNDS.
    3. Slide Gooseneck  stem into Goose Box sleeve with air bag toward rear of trailer. Align and install 3/4″ x 5″ thru pin with keeper. Tighten 1⁄2″ x 1″ Set Bolt on back of down tube.
    4. Test fit camper to truck, verify installed height will allow camper to ride level – Apply grease to trailer ball and or shift lock coupler ball socket. Hook up trailer by shifting the lever back and lowering coupler onto the ball. Pull shift lever forward and align the locking hole – insert pin.
    5. To adjust trailer ride height simply loosen the 1⁄2″ x 1″ set bolt in the back of the down tube. Remove the 3/4″ x 5″ thru pin with keeper. Move Shocker Gooseneck Surge hitch to desired position, reinstall bent pin with keeper and tighten set bolt.
    6. Routine Lubrication Maintenance should include: Oil the coupler shifting fork shafts, grease the coupling ball socket, and grease the hitch ball to REDUCE WEAR AND IMPROVE SHOCKER ACTION. Main pivot grease zerk should be greased periodically for maximum bushing life. ( Simply, you cannot over grease it! )

This gooseneck hitch has a shorter stem than a normal gooseneck and is designed to be used with the Shocker Replacement Goose Box for 5th Wheel Campers only. This gooseneck air hitch cannot be used on a normal gooseneck trailer as the inner tube steel is too short for that application.

      A 2016 Keystone Carbon most commonly comes equipped with the Lippert 1116 or Lippert 1621 pin box. The Shocker Hitch kit you linked is compatible with both, provided you choose the matching option in the "Select Pin Box" dropdown on their website.

      Which one do you need?

      To be 100% sure, look at the sticker on your current pin box:

      • If it says 1116: Choose the Lippert 1716, 1116, 0115... option.

      • If it says 1621: Choose the Lippert 1621, 0719 & Rhino Box option.

      Key Fitment Specs:

      • Capacity: The kit is rated for 24,000 lbs GTW and 6,000 lbs tongue weight, which is well within the specs for a 2016 Carbon (typical GVWR for these is 15,000–17,000 lbs).

      • Installation: This kit completely replaces your factory pin box. You will reuse your existing bolts to mount the new Shocker Gooseneck Box.

      Important Note: Shocker Hitch recommends using safety chains, which are required by law in many states for gooseneck towing. You can select the "with Chain Kit" option if you don't already have them.

      Yes! This Shocker 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Demco Coupler Conversion Kit will absolutely fit your 2024 Keystone Cougar Sport 2100RK.

      Based on Keystone's specs for the 2024 Cougar Sport line, these are typically built with a standard Lippert 1621 pin box. To get the right fit, you will just need to choose the "Lippert 1621 0719 & RhinoBox" option from the Select Pin Box drop-down menu on the product page.

      A quick pro-tip: It is always a good idea to double-check the identification sticker directly on your current factory pin box just to be 100% certain of the model number before you order, as RV manufacturers occasionally swap components mid-season. If you check and it turns out you have a Lippert Turning Point instead, we also have an option for that in the same drop-down menu!
