Knowing what type of Trailer you are towing can be helpful for ordering the best hitch for you. There are bumper pull trailers, sometimes called tag or tag-a long trailers. Gooseneck trailers and 5th wheel trailers.
Bumper Pull Trailer
If you are towing a Bumper Pull or Tag Trailer (also called a tag-along trailer) with a Pickup Truck, SUV, Van, RV or Motorhome you will need a Receiver Hitch, which is sometimes called a Bumper Hitch. Shocker Hitch has air receiver hitches, cushion receiver hitches and old school channel style receiver hitches. Shocker Hitch has Air Ride Receiver Hitches, Cushion Receiver Hitches, Traditional Channel Style Receiver Hitches, Air Equalizer for WD Hitches & Air Ride WD Hitches. You will need to know your tow vehicles receiver hitch size for ordering. Note: A WD Hitch should only be ordered if the tow vehicle can’t handle the weight of the trailer without squatting and you don’t want to get an air suspension kit or rear helper springs for your vehicle to increase the vehicles towing capacity.

Bumper Pull Trailer with Vertical Channel or 4 Bolt Flat Plate
Some bumper pull or tag trailers that have a vertical channel or 4 bolt flat plate on the trailer a-frame that the ball coupler bolts to. This can also be upgraded to use and tow with an air ride tongue mount that bolts to the front on the trailer and the bolt coupler or pintle ring bolts to that. Shocker Hitch also has Air Ride Tongue Mounts for Bumper Pull Trailers that have a Vertical Channel for Coupler or a 4 Bolt Flat Plate for Coupler.
Gooseneck Trailer
If you are pulling a Gooseneck trailer, you will need a Gooseneck Hitch & Coupler. We have air ride and non air gooseneck hitch & gooseneck coupler options. Coupler options include with Demco gooseneck coupler or Shift Lock coupler. Demco is available to fit a 2-5/16″ gooseneck ball and the Shift Lock gooseneck coupler is available for a 2-5/16″ or 3″ in gooseneck ball. There are also gooseneck with kingpin options. These gooseneck hitches or gooseneck couplers, install on the front of your gooseneck trailer by replacing your factory inner tube stem with gooseneck coupler. For gooseneck ordering, gooseneck stem size is needed along with gooseneck coupler size. There are also 9″ offset gooseneck coupler options.
5th Wheel Camper Trailer
If you are pulling a 5th Wheel Camper, you will need a 5th Wheel Hitch. We have either a 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Conversation Kit or an Air Ride Pin Box with Kingpin. These air ride towing solutions for a camper trailer with 5th wheel replace your factory pin box with a gooseneck pin box along with a air ride or non air gooseneck coupler for a 2-5/16″ ball. We have them with either a Shift Lock or Demco gooseneck coupler. For 5th wheel camper ordering, pin box size or style is needed.
