Maximum attachment TW is 3,000 lb in each mode. Follow the selected hitch base rating; other attachment options have their own limits.
- 20,000-lb Rated Hitch Base Assembly: The HD Air Receiver Hitch base assembly is rated for up to 20,000 lbs towing capacity and 2,000 lbs tongue weight. Your selected ball mount, hitch ball, or attachment may have a lower rating. Never exceed the lowest applicable rating of your towing setup, including the vehicle, receiver, hitch assembly, attachment, ball, and trailer.

What’s Included with Your Super Drop Air Hitch
Includes the HD Max Black Super Drop Air Receiver Hitch base assembly with its heavy-duty air spring and dual bump cushions, plus three hitch pins with retaining clips—two to secure the attachment and one to secure the hitch in your truck’s receiver. A ball mount or attachment is included only when selected.
No Ball Mount Option: Includes the air hitch base assembly and all three hitch pins with clips, without a ball mount or towing attachment. Select this option if you already have a compatible attachment or plan to purchase one separately. A compatible, properly rated attachment is required for towing.
Ball and Attachment Ratings: For combo-ball, drop-ball, and raised-ball mounts, the 2-inch ball is rated for 10,000 lbs towing capacity and 1,000 lbs tongue weight; the 2-5/16-inch ball is rated for 20,000 lbs towing capacity and 2,000 lbs tongue weight. Pintle hooks are rated for 20,000 lbs. For the combination pintle-and-ball attachment, the pintle is rated for 16,000 lbs towing capacity, the 2-inch ball for 12,000 lbs, and the 2-5/16-inch ball for 16,000 lbs. How the Air Ride System Cushions Your Tow
The HD Max Super Drop hitch routes towing forces through its heavy-duty air spring and pivoting assembly, cushioning the connection between your tow vehicle and trailer. As tongue loads change over uneven pavement, the air spring absorbs movement while the dual urethane bump cushions provide additional cushioning on rough roads. Adjusting air pressure for your loaded trailer helps the system work properly as your towing load changes.

This hitch is amazing! People think you don’t need something like this for sub-10k lbs. Im pulling a 5700# camper and the air bag takes the bucking out of the hitch. I also have their anti-sway bar that is easy to mount and does a wonderful job at taking the sway out.
If you’re coming into town or going to back the trailer up, simple hop out and loosen the sway bar with a simple lever and off you go.
Highly recommend. Pricey, but worth it.
Awesome! I just completed a 2000 mile trip across the US. Ram 2500 pulling 10K pound trailer. The hitch worked perfectly. Zero jerking, zero sway. Sometimes I forgot trailer was even there. I am extremely impressed with Shocker hitch. And my truck is happy too!
