Understand your air ride
Smoother towing starts at the hitch.
A Shocker Air Receiver Hitch adds an adjustable air spring and a pivoting connection between your tow vehicle and trailer. Together with dual bump cushions, the system helps absorb road shock, bouncing, bumps, tugs and jerks.
Instead of passing every jolt through a rigid connection, the air ride system cushions movement at the hitch.

From the road to the air spring
How the air ride system works
Dips, bridge joints, potholes and uneven roads create changing loads between your tow vehicle and trailer. The hitch cushions that movement through three connected parts.
The assembly pivots
The hitch uses a greasable pivot bolt to allow controlled movement of the assembly as towing loads change.
The air spring absorbs the load
As the assembly pivots, the paddle transfers movement into the air spring. The air spring and dual bump cushions help soften the jolts of towing.
You tune it for your trailer
Adjust air pressure for your trailer’s tongue weight and load, following the setup instructions for your hitch model.
What that means on the road
Less harshness
The air ride system helps soften the bumps, bouncing, tugs and jerks you feel through a rigid hitch connection.
More comfort
A smoother connection can make towing easier on you, your passengers, animals, equipment and cargo.
Changing loads, cushioned
The system cushions changing tongue loads on uneven roads and can help reduce the sway those changes contribute to.
Air ride is one part of a properly set up trailer. It does not increase your vehicle’s or trailer’s rated capacity or replace correct loading, leveling or required sway-control and weight-distribution equipment. Follow the lowest applicable rating in your towing setup.
