Available for 2-inch receivers, with hitch ratings up to 8,000 lbs GTW and 800 lbs tongue weight. For heavier trailers or a 2-1/2-inch receiver, step up to the 14K Series. Who the Sport Series is for
The Sport™ Series is our 8K air receiver hitch for lighter bumper-pull trailers, rated up to 8,000 lbs GTW and 800 lbs tongue weight. It fits 2-inch receivers on pickups, vans, and SUVs with the receiver under the bumper. It’s a good match for:
- Camping and recreation trailers: Pop-up campers, teardrop trailers and smaller camper trailers, where the air spring cuts the chucking and bouncing on concrete highways.
- Boat, ATV/UTV, motorcycle and snowmobile trailers: A smoother ride for the trailer and the toys strapped to it.
- Utility trailers and farm equipment: The clevis and drawbar mounts hook up to wagons, carts, augers, sprayers, and spreaders around the farm, and work on UTVs, ATVs, and Gators as well as pickups.
Pick the right mount for the job
- Pintle hook: The Sport Air Pintle Hitch fits 6″ OD x 3″ ID pintle rings. Choose 0 to 5″ of drop or 3″ to 7″ of drop.
- Pintle and ball: The Sport Air Drop Hitch with Pintle & Ball pairs a pintle hook with a 2″ or 2-5/16″ ball (3″ to 7″ of drop). The attachment is rated higher than the hitch, so the 8,000 lbs Sport rating still sets your limit.
- Drawbar and clevis: The Drawbar and Cushion Drawbar hitches (1/2″ to 4-1/2″ of drop, 1″ hole) and the Clevis hitch (3-1/2″ to 7-1/2″ of drop, 1-1/4″ holes) handle wagons and equipment with a pin hitch.
- Ball mounts: Choose a drop mount (4-1/2″ to 8-1/2″ of drop), a raised mount (2″ of rise to 2″ of drop), or a combo ball with both 2″ and 2-5/16″ balls (up to 4-1/2″ of drop).
Actual drop and rise depend on the mount you choose, so check the drop/rise guide on each product page. The receiver shank has two pin holes, so it also works with hitch-mount towing mud flaps.
Sway control
For campers that get pushed around by crosswinds or passing semis, the Sport Sway Control Towing Kit pairs the hitch with a sway-tab combo ball mount and one friction sway bar kit, which is all you need at the Sport’s 8,000 lbs rating. If you already own a friction sway bar, the sway-tab drop, raised, and combo ball mounts accept it.
Adjust the air ride for your trailer
The air spring and pivoting frame help absorb towing jolts, and the air valve sits under the hitch. These air receiver hitches are not for use with a weight-distribution hitch system; ask our team about the appropriate Air Equalizer setup if you use weight distribution.
