This is a very economical way to assist with fixing trailer sway problems. Whether you are towing a camper, small or large trailer, you may experience trailer sway from wind, passing vehicles, and rough & uneven road surfaces. This friction sway control arm bar kit is made to prevent the trailer from swaying. We offer a sway control arm bar system kit that works with the many different Shocker Hitch ball mounts that have sway bar mounting tabs. Available in combo, drop, or raised ball with sway bar tabs (sold separately). The friction sway bars attach to the front of your trailer frame, on the side of the a-frame, and then to your ball mount attachment equipped with sway bar tabs. This sway control system is used to stiffen the connection between the truck and trailer, keeping it straight and in line with the tow vehicle. The arm is adjustable, and you can increase the resistance on the highway and reduce the resistance when in town or taking sharp corners. This kit works with Shocker sway control hitches and our air weight distribution hitches.

How To Make a Friction Sway Arm Fit the Driver’s Side
I bought the dual sway control kit for my new camper I bought in February. Ive put around 3k miles on this kit since I bought it in February. I absolutely love the difference it made the day I put it on was very windy towing it from the storage yard to the house it pushed my truck around. After the install and on the way back to the storage yard it felt so much better. I believe this kit should be a must have for any travel trailer!
After purchasing a hitch, three different ball setups, and three locking pins from Shocker Hitch, I was impressed with their quality and performance. Then I bought the “Sway Control Friction Arm Bar & Ball Kit”. The ball & bar piece is excellent…the sway control friction arm—not so excellent! Within the first 300 miles, the trailer end mount sheared off six of eight bolts. SH has still not offered me an explanation or workable solution. The bar immediately began to rust…SH has still offered no solution. The “on/off” handle is bent and won’t turn past the adjustment bolt head…also no solution. Disappointing! If I didn’t need the sway control, I would have returned this rig immediately for a refund.

It’s hard to tell if it prevented a sway condition. I can say that on a recent 1500 mile road trip that I did not have dangerous sway condition arise. I think that for the money, the peace of mind it delivers is priceless.
Experience:
This bar is the hands-down the best I have found on the market. Its quality is superb, it has ball mounts on both ends, is simple and ultra-fast to install, mount/dismount, and is absolutely -as I found out once I got it and as Shocker told me, “releasable with one finger”.
Clearly, the folks at Shocker looked at their design from the point of view of folks like me who wish to use an effective anti-swaybar as it is intended to be engaged, released, and removed -all with the least amount of hassle possible to encourage appropriate use for safety and convenience. I know so many friends who eventually rationalized not needing their anti-swaybars because they are a real inconvenience. I get their issue, and that is why I got Shocker’s.
For me, it is easy to disengage for medium turning and quickly removable for tight turns. I have long been aware of the sea of stabilizer bars out there, including some that are pretty easy to release.
However, Shocker’s anti-sway bar that I purchased checks all the boxes -from high quality, sound engineering, ease of working with it, and comes from a company that has the service to help with my application and that is easily accessible to stand behind their products.
This bar is exactly what I needed, and in application, it is great to work with.
It gets my highest recommendation.

Pulling doubles on my fifth wheel using this set up and it makes it awesome to pull!
These weren’t an absolute necessity for us but well worth the money. Sway control made traveling on interstate in moderate crosswinds and semi-trucks passing much less tiring. Also improved control on really curvy roads, particularly 2 lane. Our RV is an older one, about 11′ tall, rear drive turbo diesel that is linear behind the rear axle with limited sway control options on the rear axle. So with the long rear body area and the weight of its engine and transmission back there sway control is an issue.

Sway bars made all the difference, hated how our new to us trailer handled, used 2 sway bars for 12000 lb, can now maintain traffic speed without a probem
