- How It Works – Simple & Effective Pivoting Design: Filters the rock shock through the air ride system & urethane cushions with the greaseable 1″ diameter 1045 carbon steel pivot bolt. Uses a rocker arm pivot design which produces a down & back motion. The mount that is attaches to the Shocker Hitch rotates on the pivot bolt and into the air spring bag and dual bump cushions. This action filters and dampens the road shock and weight being transferred from bumps when towing a trailer.
- Why It Works and What is Does – Shock Absorption & Dampening Action: When towing with a normal hard connection, every dip, bridge joint, pothole, expansion joint or rough road surface creates force and weight transfer between the tow vehicle and trailer. That is constantly shifting and bouncing is really transferring more tongue weight to the receiver hitch and off of the front tow vehicle tires, then when it comes back, it is transferring the weight off the receiver and onto the rear trailer tires. The rougher the road or pot hole, the worse it is when towing with a hard rigid connection between the tow vehicle and trailer. An air hitch acts like a absorption and dampening device to substantially reduces and minimize this.

This hitch has performed very well, it works perfectly . My truck is pretty stout so has the capacity to bumper pull my 25 foot Airstream Trailer without Weight Distribution. . My only complaint is it should be designed to extend a little further away from the receiver hitch so my tailgate would open better.
There are times if setup is not level the tailgate hits jack.
very heavy duty was not wanting to spend this much money but did not want buyer’s remorse and buying a cheaper one and then selling it for half price then having to get a good one very well built
Bought the Shocker 14K Max to replace my Shocker XR with WDH. I tow a 30′ Airstream Globetrotter (8800 GVWR) which really needs to be towed without weight distribution to prevent damage. My Silverado 2500HD has plenty of towing capacity and really doesn’t need WDH but has a bit more sag when towing than is desirable. Instead, I switched to the Shocker Max and Timbren SES to keep it level. Just returned from a 600+ mile trip and it towed fantastically. Smooth, level, non-jarring – all the things that make an Airstream happy when going down the highway.
I have towed trailers since the 60s and it was always Bump and Bang, it was just accepted as part of towing.
I recently got the Shocker hitch 14K air receiver and was it an eye opened. I towed a 9000lb trailer and did not have ANY Bump, Bangs, Jerks or Slams. I should have gotten this hitch years ago. If any of you doubt that it works, take my word it does, you will not regret getting one for yourself, it makes towing so much more enjoyable.

Bought the hitch as an alternative to my existing WD hitch. Easy set up and definitely soothes out the tow. I’ve now listed my WD hitch for sale and I’m using the Shocker as my full time hitch.

We bought our Shocker Hitch to pull a new 2025, 30 ft. Airstream. But, because we had a 3″ lift put on before we pulled with it, we were out of alignment front to back with the truck. We called Shocker hitch and they sent us two different rise options that would potentially solve our problem. One of them worked perfectly! So far, we are very happy with the way this hitch works. There is visably less vibration transfer between the truck and the trailer. We pulled a 27 ft, Airstream with a different hitch and it was frequently a very rough ride. The Shocker hitch has changed that for us and we could’t be happier. Customer service is outstanding!!! Thank you Shocker!

Great hitch for smoothing out bumps and bangs while being very robust. Couldn’t believe how much smoother the towing ride was not feeling every pavement seam heave, lip, or surface hole through our RV’s frame from our Featherlite car hauler. The rubber cushions eliminated what used to come through the hitch and the Air Ride eased the jars on our small SUV on the trailer. Our total load is about 6000lbs so we’ve got plenty of reserve capacity for safety as well.
