Shocker Trail Force® 14K Air Receiver Hitches

Who the Trail Force Series is for

Trail Force® is our 14K air receiver hitch for vehicles with the receiver tucked inside the bumper, rated up to 14,000 lbs GTW and 1,400 lbs tongue weight. Its longer 10-hole frame reaches down past the bumper to the trailer. It’s built for:

• SUVs with the receiver inside the bumper: The frame clears the bumper, so you can still get the drop you need to level the trailer.
• Service-body and flatbed trucks: Work trucks where the receiver sits up inside the body or bed.
• 4WD 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks and lifted pickups: 2500 and 3500 trucks and taller-than-stock or lifted pickups that sit high above the trailer coupler.

Customers use it to pull boats, campers, car trailers, utility trailers, ice houses and equipment trailers.

Measure before you order: Trail Force needs at least 19 inches from the ground to your vehicle’s receiver for ground clearance. Because the frame is longer, it will not work with vans, CUVs, compact or midsize pickups, or 1/2-ton pickups. If your receiver sits under the bumper, the 14K Series is usually the better fit.

Pick the right mount for the job

• Pintle hook: The Trail Force Air Pintle Hitch is for lunette-ring trailers. Choose 0" to 7" of drop or 3" to 9" of drop.
• Pintle and ball: The Trail Force Air Drop Hitch with Pintle & Ball pairs a forged 8-ton pintle hook with a 2" or 2-5/16" ball (3" to 9" of drop), so you can switch between a pintle ring and a ball coupler.
• Drawbar and clevis: The Drawbar and Cushion Drawbar hitches (up to 6-1/2" of drop, 1" hole) and the Clevis hitch (3-1/2" to 9-1/2" of drop, 1-1/4" holes) handle wagons, anhydrous tanks and other farm equipment.
• Ball mounts: Choose a drop mount (4-1/2" to 10-1/2" of drop), a raised mount (2" of rise to 4" of drop), or a combo ball with both 2" and 2-5/16" balls (up to 6-1/2" of drop).

Actual drop and rise depend on the mount you choose, so check the drop/rise guide on each product page.

Sway control kits

For campers and long trailers that get pushed around by crosswinds or passing semis, the Trail Force Sway Control Towing Kit includes a sway-tab combo ball mount and two friction sway bars. Use one bar for trailers up to 10,000 lbs and both for trailers up to 14,000 lbs. If you already own a friction sway bar, the sway-tab drop, raised, and combo ball mounts accept it.

Adjust the air ride for your trailer

The air spring and pivoting frame help absorb towing jolts, and the air valve sits on the driver’s side of the frame. Follow the air receiver installation guide and the Trail Force air pressure guide video below when setting up or changing the load. These air receiver hitches are not for use with a weight-distribution hitch system; ask our team about the appropriate Air Equalizer setup if you use weight distribution.
