HD Max 20K Air Receiver Hitches

The 20K HD Max Series is the same hitch as our 20K HD Series, with a matte black frame; the finish is the only difference. The air spring, dual bump cushions, ratings, and mount options are all the same. Available for 2-inch and 2.5-inch receivers, with hitch ratings up to 20,000 lbs GTW and 2,000 lbs tongue weight. Browse the mounts below to match your trailer connection; capacity and drop/rise vary by configuration.

Who the HD Max Series is for

The HD Max Series is our 20K air receiver hitch for pickups, vans, flatbed trucks, and motorhomes, rated up to 20,000 lbs GTW and 2,000 lbs tongue weight. It’s used across construction, contractor, farm, service, industrial, and commercial work for:

Construction and contractor trailers: Skid steer, dump, tilt, flatbed, and landscape trailers, plus portable air compressors, welder/generators, and hydraulic units. The air spring absorbs the jerks and tugs of a hard connection, so there’s less stress and breakage on welds.

Farm and ranch: Clevis and drawbar mounts hook up to hay wagons, anhydrous tanks, augers, balers, spreaders, sprayers, and cultivators on dirt roads around the farm or ranch.

Service and utility work: Mobile office, utility, and trash and debris trailers, plus military-style towing equipment with a pintle ring. When the load changes, add or reduce air to fine-tune the ride.

Pick the right mount for the job.

Pintle hook: The HD Max Air Pintle Hitch is for lunette-ring trailers. Choose 3″ to 7″ of drop or 0 to 5″ of drop.

Pintle and ball: The HD Max Air Drop Hitch with Pintle & Ball pairs a forged 8-ton pintle hook with a hitch ball (3″ to 7″ of drop), so you can switch quickly between a pintle ring and a ball coupler.

Drawbar and clevis: The Drawbar and Cushion Drawbar hitches (1/2″ to 4-1/2″ of drop) and the Clevis hitch (3-1/2″ to 7-1/2″ of drop) handle wagons and equipment with a pin hitch.

Ball mounts: Choose a drop mount (4-1/2″ to 8-1/2″ of drop), a raised mount (2″ of rise to 2″ of drop), or a combo ball with both 2″ and 2-5/16″ balls.

The 2-5/16″ ball is rated 20,000 lbs and the 2″ ball 10,000 lbs. Actual drop and rise depend on the mount you choose, so check the drop/rise guide on each product page.

Farm Mount Towing Kit

If one truck pulls a little of everything, the HD Max Air Hitch Farm Mount Towing Kit puts it all in one box: the air hitch, a combo ball mount with 2″ and 2-5/16″ balls, a clevis mount, an adjustable pintle mount, a drawbar, and three mount pins with clips. It’s set up for quick hookup when you change trailers.

Sway control kits

For long trailers that get pushed around by crosswinds or passing semis, the Sway Control Towing Kit with Combo Ball (1/2″ to 4-1/2″ drop) and the Drop Hitch Sway Control Towing Kit (4-1/2″ to 8-1/2″ drop) include two friction sway bars. Use one bar for trailers up to 10,000 lbs and both for trailers up to 20,000 lbs. If you already own a friction sway bar, the sway-tab drop, raised, and combo ball mounts accept it.

Adjust the air ride for your trailer.

The air spring and pivoting frame help absorb towing jolts. Follow the air receiver installation guide and model-specific air-pressure instructions when setting up or changing the load. These air receiver hitches are not for use with a weight-distribution hitch system; ask our team about the appropriate Air Equalizer setup if you use weight distribution.
