This 20K black Impact Max Shocker drop cushion hitch ball mount has a dual bump cushion design for cushioning and absorbing the road shock when your towing. The Impact Max drop cushion bumper hitch features a pivoting, dual cushion design with 7 adjustment holes that can be flipped around for more drop or rise. This heavy duty shock absorbing drop hitch offers 0″ to 7-1/2″ of drop which is great for taller lifted pickup trucks and suvs. The cushioning design filters the bumps, bangs, tugs, jerks and bucking through the urethane bump cushions absorbing the road shock from gravel roads or concrete highways and ultimately creates smoother towing on you, your pickup and trailer. The Shocker Impact Max drop ball mount comes with either a 2″ or 2-5/16″ hitch chrome trailer hitch ball and is designed for towing a variety of trailers including skid steer equipment trailers, boat trailers, fish & ice house, race trailers, cargo trailers, campers and more. Install your Impact™ cushion hitch

Follow the receiver installation instructions, choose your ball-mount height, and review the maintenance and safety notes below. These instructions cover Impact™ and Impact™ Max models.

Here are the installation instructions to install the Shocker Impact & Impact Max Series Cushion Hitches.

Insert the shank of the hitch into the receiver of your tow vehicle. Make sure you are using the correct size shank to work with your receiver. Secure the hitch with a hitch pin. Adjust the ball mount attachment so your tow vehicle and trailer are level.

Hitch capacity ratings: Shocker Impact is rated for 14,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW) and 1,400 lbs maximum tongue weight. Shocker Impact Max is rated for 20,000 lbs GTW and 2,000 lbs maximum tongue weight. An attachment rated at 20,000 lbs does not increase the standard Impact hitch above 14,000 lbs. Always use the lowest applicable rating of the vehicle, receiver, hitch, attachment and trailer coupler. Check the rating label on the actual equipment.

Install the unit into the receiver tube on the tow vehicle, then install the 5/8″ hitch pin (not included). The Impact/Impact Max can be used upright or upside down for more drop or rise depending on needs. Hook up trailer using properly selected ball mount and height adjustment in order to have a level, safe trailer. IMPORTANT: The anti-rattle kit is included with both current 2-inch Shocker Impact and 2-inch Impact Max models. Use the supplied kit for your model. Slide the hitch to the furthest shank adjustment hole, wrap the U-bolt over the top of the shank, line up the bottom plate, install two nuts and tighten.

Usage / Maintenance: This unit has 7 height adjustment holes for more rise and more drop. Shocker Hitch offers more than 20 mounts to choose from. Simply remove the ball mount attachment pins with clips and change to another Shocker receiver hitch mount. If using a ball mount with a coupler ball, it is highly recommended to grease the ball to reduce wear and tear on the trailer coupler and ball mount. Regularly grease the Shocker Impact & Impact Max Hitch using the built-in grease zerk on the pivot bolt depending on use. You cannot over grease this unit. IMPORTANT: DO NOT tighten the top bolt with lock nut. It is set to factory specifications out of the box. Overtightening can lead to a stiffer towing experience.

Impact & Impact Max: Drop, Rise & Tow Ratings

Impact hitch base: 14,000 lb gross trailer weight (GTW) / 1,400 lb tongue weight (TW). Impact Max hitch base: 20,000 lb GTW / 2,000 lb TW. Attachment ratings do not increase the hitch base rating.

Note: Towing capacity is limited by lowest rated component. Use the lowest applicable GTW and TW limits of the vehicle, receiver, hitch base, attachment, ball and trailer. Use the marked tongue-weight rating; do not calculate it from towing capacity.

Discontinued: The bolt-on pintle hook SH-331-332 is not a current attachment option. For existing units and legacy bolt-on pintle/ball assemblies, follow the labels and instructions for that specific attachment.

Drawbar, cushioned drawbar and SH-360 clevis: No tongue weight (0 lb vertical tongue load). These mounts are not for use with a hitch ball.

Sway-control-tab mounts: Use the range and ball rating for the corresponding combo, drop or raised ball mount. Confirm compatibility with your selected hitch.

No Ball Mount: A compatible, properly rated attachment is required for towing; the base alone does not provide a towing connection.

Follow the lowest rating: These are attachment ratings, not a guarantee of your complete hitch capacity. Never exceed the lowest applicable trailer-weight or tongue-weight limit of the vehicle, receiver, hitch base, attachment, ball or trailer. A higher-rated attachment does not increase a lower-rated hitch base’s capacity. Use the marked tongue-weight rating; it is not calculated from towing capacity.

Drawbar, cushioned drawbar and SH-360 clevis: 0 lb vertical tongue load; these mounts are not for use with a hitch ball.

Legacy attachment: The bolt-on pintle hook SH-331-332 is discontinued. Its row is retained for existing owners; confirm the label and instructions for your exact attachment.
